30 Seconds To Mars are releasing their new single Attack on February 19th through Virgin which is taken from the album A Beautiful Lie [out on February 26th] which has sold over 900,000 copies in the US. The band, which was formed and is fronted by Jared Leto, star of Fight Club and Requiem For A Dream, features the actor’s brother Shannon Leto on drums, Tomo Milicevic on guitars and Matt Wachter on bass.
The single Attack features vast, abrasive guitars coupled with infectious vocals which soar from pain-stricken wails to intimate whispers. It is a good introduction to the album which is lyrically direct and progressive, featuring their own unique eclectic brand of songwriting. A Beautiful Lie contains frustration, pain, ambition and purification and the film-like unraveling concepts within it make it obvious why the album has sold almost a million copies Stateside.
