Tour
but Motorola
DID come here with their
….. and paid for you all to get in …..and provided all the prizes, including giving away six of their latest mobile phones, the E398. If you missed it, you missed a superb day; and on behalf of you all we thank Motorola for choosing to come to The Park before going on to 17 other locations in 14 different countries over the next four months. More than 250
of you turned up to skate, and there were loads more mums, dads and
friends as spectators. The Motofunktour liveried VW Beetle was wheeled into The Park and many of you had a chance to sit in it with the gorgeous Moto PR girls. Also brought into The Park was the Moto DJ caravan which provided the music all day from its sky-scraper-like speakers. Some of you even had a go at mixing yourselves, and did a great job. At 1.00 pm the comps started with the 12yrs and under age group who set a very high standard for the rest to follow. This was followed by the 13 – 15yrs age group and then the 16yrs and above had their turn - all with equally high standards of skating. Between each comp the floor was invaded as everybody took the opportunity to skate. Then came the pro/sponsored comp. About 20 of them put on a wonderful display in a group jam for 15-20 minutes. From these, the judges picked four who then had the chance to show their skills in a couple of minutes of sick individual skating battling for the top prize. And in reverse order:- Young Ben Raemers came 4th; Marc Churchill 3rd; Joe Habgood 2nd; and the winner was ….. Carl
Wilson Check out loads of pictures of the day on our pictures page. You can follow Carl’s progress

John Helliwell kindly made the draw from all the entries for our website
